EyeFM, a multimodal vision-language eyecare copilot, was developed and evaluated through retrospective validations, reader studies, and a Randomized Controlled Trial, demonstrating its potential to assist in ocular disease detection and clinical report drafting.
A new AI copilot for eyecare, EyeFM, was tested in a randomized controlled trial. Ophthalmologists using EyeFM achieved a higher correct diagnostic rate (92.2% vs 75.4%) and their patients showed better compliance with medical advice.
