Fentanyl Vaccine?

An experimental fentanyl vaccine, which aims to prevent overdose by blocking the drug's effects, is set to enter human trials in early 2026. Developed with funding from the U.S. Department of Defense, the vaccine works by generating antibodies that bind to fentanyl in the bloodstream, preventing it from reaching the brain. The vaccine, which has shown promising results in rat studies, will first be tested for safety in a Phase I trial in the Netherlands. If successful, it could become the first proactive treatment for opioid use disorder.
