Reports: Elly De La Cruz rejected record contract offer from Reds
Reports indicate that Elly De La Cruz, the 24-year-old shortstop for the Cincinnati Reds, rejected a record-breaking contract extension offer last spring, according to a MLB.com report. The offer, which would have been the largest in Reds history, was declined by De La Cruz as he chooses to wait until he reaches arbitration eligibility in 2027. The current largest contract in Reds history is Joey Votto's 10-year, $225 million deal, while Juan Soto holds the MLB's contract record with a 15-year, $765 million deal with the New York Mets.
I would not expect any less, since his agent is Scott Boras. He can probably make double signing with a large market club.
