LOLbetarian General Discussion: What Things Do You Think Might Be "Bipartisan" Things People Want That We Could Achieve *Voluntarily*?
Frequently I'm seeing people suggest we need a law to achieve this or that thing and I often think... we don't really need a law, just to get people to do a certain thing.
Take 4 day work weeks. We don't need to pass some law forcing companies to implement this kind of structure for jobs, where it works. You just ask companies to structure their work week this way and get them to do it \*voluntarily\*, without any law being passed, based on explaining potential business profits and savings as incentives. Some jobs frequently do have schedules like this already as it works well.
How about not changing daylight saving time anymore? We could just display both clock times at places publicly and privately refer to whatever time we think makes most sense, like "Noon (DST)" (with the time zone referred to with the time so people don't get confused). Over time, the alternative time might gain more traction and then the government would catch up and \*officially\* change what time is used.
Do you have other ideas of things that maybe both left and right would like to see happen that could be worked on?
What do you think about freedom and libertarianism today (or, relatedly, anarchism / anarcho-capitalism / etc.)?
