Canada pledges more than $200M in funding for Ukraine at NATO meeting
Canada has pledged over $200 million in funding for Ukraine through NATO's Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL), an initiative established to support Ukraine's defense needs by purchasing U.S.-made weapons. This marks Canada's second contribution to PURL, following an initial $680 million in August. The funding aims to provide Ukraine with critical military equipment, such as air defense systems and artillery ammunition, as the country continues to face pressure from Russia. The announcement coincides with NATO's foreign ministers meeting to discuss a U.S.-led peace initiative, while tensions remain high as Russia shows no intention of ending the conflict.
Canada is spending more than $200 million on military equipment for Ukraine, making the purchase through the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL). Under the mechanism, Ukraine identifies its most critical and urgent defence requirements, such as air defence systems and artillery munition. Stand With Ukraine 🇨🇦✌️🇺🇦
