UPS and FedEx Ground MD-11 Fleets Out of an ‘Abundance of Caution’ as Plane Crash Death Toll Rises to 14
Following a fatal UPS plane crash in Louisville, Kentucky, that resulted in 14 deaths, UPS and FedEx have grounded their fleets of McDonnell Douglas MD-11 cargo planes. Boeing, the aircraft manufacturer, recommended the suspension of flight operations for the MD-11 Freighter as a precautionary measure while an investigation is conducted. UPS and FedEx have contingency plans in place to maintain their delivery services.
