Hi friends! What distro is looking the best for gaming compatibility and performance?

I have experience with Ubuntu, but it’s been a few years. I’m building a new rig for Linux gaming since I’m totally done using or supporting windows ever again. Before I just default to that for my new rig I thought I’d get some other opinions. Which distro do you like the best for gaming, and why?
