Suprise Exercise Challenge! (Abs/Core)
Ready for day-after Christmas twist (literally)? Here's your new fitness challenge to kick off your post-Christmas lunch/dinner digestion!
Challenge:
Find a chair that spins and get ready to twist your way to victory!
Technique:
Sit down on a chair that can spin
Place your feet flat on the ground, hip-width apart.
Engage your core and sit up tall with your back straight.
Twist your torso to one side slowly, using your abs to control the movement.
As you twist, the chair will start spinning. Twist side to side in such a way that your chair spins slowly in one direction more than the other.
Try to make a full rotation using your core muscles and the swinging of your arms. No pushing or helping yourself with your legs. This challenge is all about strengthening your abs and improving your control.
First Timers:
If you're new to this, which you all probably are...except for you antsy-pants chair spinners who can't sit still like me, start slow! Try a half-spin and work your way up.
Today's Goal:
Each hour, try to see how many 360 degree spins you can do in a row. If you want more of a challenge, spin 360 in one direction, then 360 degrees back or bring your arms crossed over your chest so you don't get the extra boost from swinging your arms. Keep pushing yourself, and don’t forget to keep that core engaged.
