e2ee RCS coming soon?

Apple is close to supporting end-to-end encryption (E2EE) for RCS messages, according to the latest iOS 26.3 beta. This development follows the GSM Association's efforts to implement the privacy feature for messages sent between Android and iPhone devices. The new carrier bundle setting in the iOS beta allows carriers to enable and disable E2EE for RCS messages, potentially making the encryption status visible to users as per GSMA standards.
