BJP comes to power in BMC, trumps Thackeray brothers

In the recent municipal corporation elections in Maharashtra, the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance achieved a historic victory by winning 25 out of 29 Municipal Corporations, including the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), India's richest civic body. The BJP also emerged as the single-largest party in 19 other municipal corporations, securing a majority in 23 out of 29 corporations that voted. This win marks a significant setback for the Thackeray cousins and the united NCP factions, who were defeated in key cities like Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad.
