I'm intruiged by F1, but don't know where to start.

F1 has always been one of those things that I've always been tempted to get into, but I genuinely don't know where to start. I have never followed any sort of racing, and my attempt to dive in feet first got me so lost in all of the lingo and drama that I felt overwhelmed. I've heard that the Netflix series is a decent place to begin, but I've also seen criticisms of it for not being an overdramatized, inaccurate representation of the sport. I'm not super into melodramatic depictions of real life events, so I'm hesitant to give it a go.

Help me find the best place to start. I'd love to hear why you all love it, and what originally got you interested.
