YouTuber orders Domino’s pizza on Nintendo Wii more than a decade after servers shut down
A YouTuber from Retro Game Attic successfully ordered a Domino's pizza using a Nintendo Wii more than a decade after the console's online services were discontinued. The order was made using a fan-made Food Channel app, which is a translated version of the Japan-only Demae Channel. The Food Channel allowed Wii owners to order food directly from their console, but it stopped functioning when Nintendo shut down the Wii's online services in 2014. Retro Game Attic used Wii Link, an open-source replacement for the official servers, to reconnect the console and place the order. The YouTuber demonstrated how to navigate the Wii interface, select items, and place the order in a video.
Not so game over after all.
