Wednesday is when ambition quietly exits the chat. Welcome to Dave daily.
Our first story today comes from The Irish Times, written by Melissa Heikala.Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is warning that AI risks becoming a speculative bubble unless it spreads beyond big tech and wealthy economies. That is exactly he says the benefits need to be more evenly spread across industries and regions, otherwise only tech groups will benefit. What kind of adoption rates are we seeing? Productivity benefits and work applications.Concentrated in richer developed countries. Wow, this can have huge implications. What's the community saying about this? User QC says. Ha shucks, how sad that would be for all these companies that are trying to force this down our throats. User this dude writes. I'm kind of tired of AI being pushed into everything. I don't need AI in my toaster.Archadeep says good AI adds nothing we didn't already have in the world already.
Moving on, our next story comes from MSN Real Estate, written by and submitted to Digg by The Fallen Walnut.Tesla's quietly killed its Full Self Driving purchase option. That's right, they're pushing customers toward monthly fees. Instead. The move transforms what had been a high-priced one time bet on future autonomy into a recurring charge. The owners are pretty upset. The one time purchase of its Full Self driving package will no longer be available on February 15th.So how did the community react? Well user the fallen Walnut said can't stand the move to make everything a subscription. Thankfully when they tried it with BMW people were outraged enough for them to discontinue it. User Smack Saw had more colorful thoughts saying and shitification. 2026 is renting you the value and selling you the.user riolet suggested they should be upgrading everyone that bought FSD to hardware that can actually run it the community had very mixed feelings on tesla's latest move
Shifting focus now to The Verge, written by Jess Weatherbed.Sony's TV business is being taken over by TCL. What does that mean? Well, it means Sony and TCL have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint venture with TCL holding a 51% ownership stake. So TCL is calling the shots now. That's right, the new company will handle the complete life cycle of Sony's home entertainment. This has the potential to allow for more affordable Bravia models and faster access to advanced display technologies. But what is the DIG community have to say? User Cantaloupe Emperor says. Considering Sony allegedly used to use LG panels in their televisions, this seems like more and shitification of a previously premium brand from the 80s and 90s.User fuse says well I guess the A 95 L is the last Sony TV that I will ever buy.i guess i'll stick to LG going forward smack saw writes i'm not really convinced that TCL is worse than sony and in fact they might be better at this point this sparked a discussion in the community about the future of the sony brand
Next up, we have Forbes, written by Paul Tassie. Chris Pratt wants to play the Punisher. That's right. And it's not just any Punisher. It's Punisher 2099, a cyberpunk future version of the character Punisher 2099. That's right, He says he's always loved the Punisher and. It's to kind of play a version of him with James Reese in the Terminal list. What did the community think? User D1 Foley writes. Wish he would go back to comedy. He is hysterical and comedic roles and mediocre as an action star. User Nik notes Jon Bernthal would have to die first. And then I'd still rather they have Thomas Jane reprise the role as an older and jaded Frank Castle user. Macker put it simply can't see it. The community definitely has mixed feelings about Chris Pratt's potential casting as the Punisher.
Finally, let's dive into a really weird trick to fall asleep in 5 minutes. This from Upworthy, submitted by Tiki Head. According to neuroscientist Andrew Huberman, you can trick your brain into calming down by moving your eyes from side to side behind your eyelids while doing some long exhales. That sounds odd, but apparently it's based on brain research.Huberman says that eye movements suppress the amygdala and make people feel calmer. That makes sense. So did it work for the DIG community? User No, no, no. OK, maybe, said Emma. Give it a try tonight, User Smack Saw wrote. Huberman is great. There's a reciprocal relationship between the eyes and brain. The brain moves the eyes, but the eyes and their position activ.Different regions of the brain. User limit Exceed jokes. Now find a trick to convince my brain that I actually really do have to go to bed and not play video games.
This has been your dig. Daily recap. Take a breath, forget everything. Repeat tomorrow. Thanks to our community members who shared their thoughts today.QC, the fallen Walnut, Smack saw and Limited seed and many others.
