How would we feel about giving people the ability to hide all their comments and posts on their profile?
I'm sure some people may know where I first saw this feature, cough reddit cough but I personally think it's quite useful to be able to prevent people from reading all your past comments and posts and downvoting/brigading them, or preventing others from trying to build a profile of you simply because you made a comment (or several in a thread) that they disagree with.
People can become quite irate or offended by what others say and if they click on the person's profile and see that they've hidden their content then that basically stops them from trawling through their past comments which I think would help them to just forget about what the person might've said in relation to other topics.
It also prevents crazy and angry people from digging up sensitive things from the past someone might've posted and making extremely insulting comments about it either in the thread they're currently replying to or the original thread. Someone did this to me once on reddit and I still haven't forgotten about it since.
I do understand that it could make it harder to discern users from bots though, but what are other people's thoughts on this overall?
