Feature Request: Hide
Good morning Digg staff,
I'm sure you've got your hands full with new users, past-due action items, and all sorts of other stuff that I can't bring to mind as an end-user. Hope you get a few breaks here and there with the public release.
Submitting this only to, hopefully, have it dog eared for the UX/UI staff/team.
Core Issue:
With the increase in volume of submissions in the last couple of days, I've found myself using the bury button in place of a hide button.
Reason:
I want to see things in communities like food, lifestyle, and entertainment every once in a while. Maybe something cool will pop up. 95% of the time I don't actually care about that content, but I'm human and can't make things easy. I want to stay joined to that communities despite only actually caring or being interested 5% of the time.
So, what I do, is open the feed to My Feed > Latest and start burying posts to act as a filter for stuff that I've seen (and sometimes stuff I don't actually want to see). This lets me navigate the feed and have a way of understanding where I left off last time or when I've reached "the old content."
Ask:
Add a hide button that has a 50ms delay, removes the post from from My Feed > Latest without affecting visibility for others, doesn't digg/bury the score, and empowers me to not be negative towards other users unintentionally.
Happy Friday! Hope your servers are keeping you warm.
