Digg Friends Feature

I’m sorry to add to the never ending pile of feature requests, but I wanted to make a suggestion based on functionality I used to love from the Reddit Enhancement Suite. Specifically, I’d love if it we could add friends to the platform so we could see their username highlighted or featured in some way so we can quickly identify them in posts or comments. As the community grows to the size of Reddit one day, it will be hard to see people you know on the front page or even in larger communities. If we could have a way to easily flag those we know, interact with often, or simply trust the option of, it would be nice to be able to see them highlighted more amongst the noise. Maybe this could be achieved through a tagging system instead of a friends system. Either way, the ability to highlight those we care about as the site grows would be nice. Does anyone else here have any thoughts around this? Maybe you have additional ways to make this useful or maybe you are against it. Would love to hear the opinions of others.
