Just read Momentum Cyber’s 2025 Cybersecurity Almanac – pretty eye-opening if you follow AI + M&A
I spent some time this week reading the 2025 Cybersecurity Almanac from Momentum Cyber, and it’s one of the more thoughtful breakdowns I’ve seen on how AI is reshaping the cyber M&A landscape.
A few takeaways that stood out:
• They frame the current moment as a “capital super-cycle” driven by AI adoption, not just another hype wave
• Clear data on why cybersecurity has become critical infrastructure for the AI economy (and why capital keeps flowing in even during broader tech slowdowns)
• Strong breakdown of which cyber segments are actually attracting strategic buyers vs. financial sponsors
• Insight into why consolidation is accelerating and why many mid-market cyber companies are quietly becoming acquisition targets
• Less buzzwords, more macro + deal logic than most reports in this space
What I appreciated is that it doesn’t read like a generic vendor report. It feels closer to an investor memo or board-level analysis than marketing content. MarketWatch and Substack both picked it up, which tracks with how detailed it is.
Curious how others here are thinking about this:
Do you agree that AI is creating a sustained M&A tailwind for cybersecurity, or are we still front-running reality a bit?

Would love to hear thoughts from folks on the operator, investor, or corp dev side.
