Luke Ross, the creator of the Cyberpunk 2077 VR mod, says that people are now pirating it to 'punish' him for breaking CD Projekt's terms of service. Ross, who reportedly earns $20,000 a month through Patreon, extended his VR conversion framework to support Cyberpunk 2077 in February 2022. However, CD Projekt issued a DMCA strike for the mod, which Ross claims infringes on his IP rights. Ross is now facing backlash from the community, with some people pirating and illegally exchanging the mod.
