Trump says he hopes to sign crypto bill very soon to beat China
U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, emphasized the importance of American crypto leadership to counter China. He highlighted the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act, signed into law last year, which regulates stablecoins pegged to the U.S. dollar. Trump also mentioned the strategic Bitcoin reserve established by an executive order and the CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act, which prevents the Federal Reserve from issuing a central bank digital currency without congressional approval. He expressed optimism about signing a contentious crypto market structure legislation soon, aiming to unlock new pathways for financial freedom and maintain U.S. dominance in the crypto space.
