Started my digital art journey this year!
I know this will be a very long journey, so I’m taking my time and managing my expectations.
I’ve started with the fundamentals and basic exercises, namely: Line work, boxes, perspective, and form.
And every once in a while I try an illustration, a character, figures, or gestures, but I know I’m getting ahead of myself with those. They’re just for some fun in between the real practice while I let the training set in to my subconscious. I also try to apply what I learn every time I try a drawing.
I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos and lessons/courses on other sites, and trying to note down the most crucial information (and the points that are most commonly mentioned across all the content), in order to create my own personal curriculum.
I’ve also been documenting my journey on social media (instagram, tumblr, bluesky, deviantArt, etc. Just search for any variation of “AmpersandrewArt” and you’ll probably find me) and I’ll post my progress here every once in a while as well.
Wish me luck!
