Froggy Bottom Guitars to continue after founder's retirement
So, Froggy Bottom Guitars is a boutique builder who was strongly associated with its founder, Michael Millard. Now that he is retiring, folks were unsure whether it would continue to build their much-sought-after instruments. Apparently, they plan to continue on. From their website:
"We’re pleased to share that Froggy Bottom Guitars will remain in business building the best instruments our hands, minds, and hearts are capable of producing. Michael Millard, Andy Mueller, Eric Goodenough, Mark Burds, John Gospodarek and Mike Hauser are fully committed to going forward—together. We’re also pleased that Michael will retain his emeritus status here at Froggy Bottom Guitars. He’s eager to spend his time with family, fly fishing, and maybe polishing up a few of those old Reverend Gary Davis tunes! "
Brian Truesby, the new sales manager at Froggy Bottom, posted this on the Acoustic Guitar Forum:
"I’ve recently come aboard to assist with all things sales, logistics and communications to our friends, family, clients and guitar lovers beyond these Vermont workshop walls. Prior to Froggy, I spent a decade working with Wildwood Guitars in Colorado, managing all of their acoustic guitar related matters. I've also worked closely with a number of shops and luthiers around the country, including Dream Guitars to provide counsel for high-end vintage instrument valuations and luthier/client liaison responsibilities.
I’ll resist the urge to reminisce and ramble any further. Mostly, I just wanted to make sure you know our shop has an official presence here in case there are any questions or sentiments to share directly about these instruments. Whether they be about existing frogs in the world or a future commission, I want you to know I’ve committed myself to doing the very best I can for you. Finally, huge thanks to JR and all of my AGF family. I firmly believe I wouldn't be here at FBGs in this capacity without this lovely forum. Just know that you all very much have an advocate "on the inside" at Froggy Bottom!!"
This website showcases Froggy Bottom Guitars, a small shop celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2020, dedicated to crafting custom, handmade guitars.
