Calgary expected to provide updated timeline on water restrictions

Calgarians facing water restrictions for over two weeks may receive an updated timeline on ending these cutbacks today. City officials are set to provide details on the voluntary water rationing, which was implemented after a water main rupture. Residents have been asked to reduce water usage by taking shorter showers and limiting toilet flushes. The ruptured water main, which is the second fracture in two years, has led to criticism of city leadership for not taking preventive measures. Ukrainian man suspected of Nord Stream pipeline blasts placed in custody in Germany

German authorities have placed a 49-year-old Ukrainian man, Serhii Kuznietsov, in custody for suspected involvement in the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline explosions, which damaged pipelines carrying Russian natural gas to Germany. Kuznietsov, who denies involvement, was extradited from Italy after being detained there. He is believed to have coordinated the attack, which heightened tensions during the war in Ukraine.
