Britain 'discreetly bringing back Isis brides’ from Syria

Britain has quietly repatriated several women linked to the Islamic State, along with their children, from detention camps in Syria, according to a senior official. These women, known as ISIS brides, were held in facilities run by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the same camps where Shamima Begum remains detained. Despite these repatriations, 29 individuals with British passports are still held at Al-Roj camp near the Iraqi border. The UK government has allowed a small number of women to return with their children following individual case assessments, mostly those who were under 18 when they traveled to Syria. The security situation at the Syrian detention camps has deteriorated as Damascus seeks to end Kurdish autonomy in the northeast.
