Tennessee Republicans have introduced a suite of immigration enforcement bills, targeting undocumented immigrants and imposing penalties on non-compliant officials. The bills aim to deprive residents without citizenship of access to public services, funnel those without documentation into the criminal court system, and impose fiscal and criminal penalties on local officials who don’t comply. The package was co-authored with the Trump Administration, with the intention of aiding in rounding up and forcibly removing undocumented immigrants from the country.
