Singaporean infrastructure giant Keppel is set to build a A$10 billion AI data centre campus in Victoria’s Latrobe Valley, marking a significant shift from coal-fired energy to high-tech digital infrastructure. The 720MW Powerbank project, situated on the former Morwell power station site, aims to create a hyperscale data centre precinct that could exceed 1GW of total capacity. This initiative is expected to provide thousands of jobs, support local businesses, and position Victoria as a key player in the global AI economy.
