Music Won't Save You [Original Artwork]
A piece of artwork I made last night as a warmup to getting back into the game. I was listening to a track that had this villainous voiceover so I took a queue from that. Initially, it was going to be “Music Won’t Save You This Time!” but after playing with the composition, “this time” got the axe.
Regardless, it was a ton of fun to make and to experiment with some new color grading and texturing on the piece. I primarily used Adobe Photoshop and a bit of Illustrator for this one. How I've missed making blown-out chrome text (Futura, we're back, baby).
My playlist for this piece.
✨ AI disclosure: I’m a big believer in using modern technology as a tool in the tool belt, but I think as a primitive, we should be making our mark on it. The hand was initially generated in Gemini and then brought into Photoshop for a paintover, lighting, and texturing. The compact disc started as a Gemini generation, but I didn’t like how it worked in the scene, so I created the disc in Illustrator and mapped the generated disc onto it. This gave me full control over the perspective and bloom lighting effects.
