Biggest issues for Steelers' next coach: QB, ownership, roster - ESPN
Biggest issue remains paying the money to get great coordinators.
You don't get a "job security discount", you get a pay bump due to the high expectations. We should be hiring every assistant out there with a modicum of upside and turning the program into a place where solid coaches teach and we crank out guys that teams line up to interview. I'm tired of getting castoffs.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are searching for a new head coach for the first time since 2007, facing significant challenges including uncertainty at quarterback, potential resource constraints from ownership, and roster management issues. The team is in need of a franchise quarterback, with options limited by a subpar 2026 draft class and budget constraints. Additionally, the Steelers' coaching staff and facilities have been criticized for lacking resources and modernity, raising concerns about the team's ability to attract and retain top coaching talent. The roster, while solid in some areas, requires improvements in wide receiver depth, offensive line, running back, and secondary. The next coach will need to navigate these challenges while also managing the expectations of team president Art Rooney II, who is under pressure to end a nearly decade-long playoff win drought.
