Success! Mod installed and working!

This soldering job was much more difficult than I anticipated.

This is probably the smallest scale soldering I’ve done.

Pros:

• The mod was successful and works beautifully.

• The mod is secure and not in any danger of being damaged during disassembly or the like.

• Much easier to do it this way than installing as intended - ‘overlay’ style.

Cons:

• Working with wires and solder points this size was difficult for me. Need to practice more. Need different size and style tips.

• Wiring routing should have been better / cleaner.

• There must be a better solution than the tape I used. Maybe in conjunction with something else. (This is what was on hand).

Overall - I’m glad I tried, and very happy I succeeded in getting it all working as intended.

I would like to practice more on things this small to help me handle things like heat transfer with small tips, and handling wires this size. I’d also like to learn better techniques to orient wiring and make things tidier overall.
