Swift Current, Yorkton & Moose Jaw are getting new local CBC news bureaus
CBC News has announced a significant expansion of its local journalism efforts, adding 33 journalists and creating 11 new bureaus across Canada. This move increases CBC's presence from 66 to 77 locations, with a focus on Central and Western Canada. The initiative aims to strengthen CBC's connection with local communities and address the decline of local news across the country. CBC will also launch 44 additional regional web pages and expand its local podcast offerings.
Any expansion of local news is a huge positive in my books. Great to see investment in our communities.
