Judge orders release of Nekima Levy Armstrong, Chauntyll Allen | kare11.com
This DOJ knows how to arrest people but they have the darnedest time getting a single charge to stick. It's almost as if the justice department has become weaponized to serve the interests of one person.
Despite what conservatives have been doing and continue doing to undo our 1st Amendment, we still have freedom of speech in this country.
A federal judge ordered the release of Nekima Levy Armstrong and Chauntyll Allen, two community activists arrested in connection with a protest at Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. The activists were arrested in relation to a disruption of a church service on Sunday. Levy Armstrong, a civil rights attorney and activist, and Allen, a member of the St. Paul School Board, were among at least three people apprehended. The activists were released from federal custody on Friday afternoon, following a statement from Levy Armstrong's nonprofit Racial Justice Network. The case highlights a national pattern of the criminalization of dissent, the targeting of Black activists, and the weaponization of federal agencies to suppress movements for justice.
