Trump vetoes bipartisan bill to provide clean water to rural Southeastern Colorado
President Donald Trump vetoed a bipartisan bill to complete the Arkansas Valley Conduit, a major infrastructure project in southeastern Colorado that would provide clean water for farming, factories, and households. The bill passed Congress with unanimous support but was vetoed by Trump, who cited concerns over the project's cost and reliability. The project, which began in 2023, aims to ensure clean drinking water for 50,000 people and create jobs in the area. Despite the veto, supporters of the project remain committed to finding a way to complete it.
Trump used his first veto of his second term to cancel a water pipeline that would have provided clean water to Colorado families.
There's no good reason for this except as retaliation against the entire state because of Boebert's vote to release the Epstein files and the fact that Colorado won't let Tina Peters, who committed state felonies while trying to help steal the 2020 election for Trump, out of prison.
That's the kind of leader he is, someone petty and childish enough to hurt his own people out of spite and revenge.
