The Georgia election interference case against former President Donald Trump and 18 others has been dismissed by a new prosecutor, Pete Skandalakis, who argued that the case was not a viable basis for prosecution and would not be feasible to try against Trump. The judge overseeing the case granted the dismissal, marking the end of the two major election interference cases Trump faced following the 2020 election. Skandalakis cited logistical difficulties and the lack of realistic prospect of compelling a sitting president to appear in court, as well as flaws in the prosecution's case theory.
