India probes IndiGo over 1,200 cancelled flights
India's aviation regulator has launched an investigation into IndiGo after the country's largest carrier cancelled 1,232 flights in November and faced widespread operational disruptions this week, leaving thousands of passengers stranded across major airports.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) announced Wednesday that it is investigating the situation and has ordered IndiGo's senior management to appear at its headquarters to explain the unprecedented disruptions and present a detailed mitigation plan. The airline's on-time performance plummeted to just 35% on Tuesday, the lowest among all Indian carriers, as more than 200 flights were cancelled over two days.
