Just watched The Long Walk (2025)
Just watched this one last night and if film is supposed to make you feel something, this one did the trick. Pretty simple conceit from an old Stephen King novel that feels a bit like the Hunger Games before the Hunger Games (though also acknowledging you, Battle Royale).
Overwhelming bleak with some excellent moments of tragic humanity and even some beauty. A lot of commentary on the nature of the human condition and how we wrestle with seeing love in the face of cruelty, though of course that doesn't always guarantee its return.
I do wish there was a bit more context about the world around them, since it feels like it could play a bigger driving force, but I get they were going for the ambiguity aspect.
Solid performances from both David Jonsson and Cooper Hoffman, which makes me excited to see whatever they're in next.
Any of you seen it?
