I'll start -- what's your LOTR headcanon?
Like any good epic, LOTR is the story of heroes, royalty, famous people. But what of the rest of Middle-Earth? In one of the books, there's a throwaway line about Gandalf not being trusted in the Shirez because he has led several young hobbits off on adventures, some of whom never returned.
In my personal headcanon, there are expatriate hobbits in the far corners of Middle-Earth. A Brandybuck, running "Ye Happy Corsair" in Umbar? A fool of a Took, outfitting kine hunting trips in Araw? Maybe even a stray Bolger or Bracegirdle, pouring heady vintages at a tasting room in Dorwinion?
Surely I'm not the only Tolkien fan on digg.
And don't call me "Shirley."
