Q: Old MacBook, New OS

Afternoon!

Looking to update the OS on my old MacBook, Intel, to Linux for basic usage. The battery is still in good condition, so it'll be my beater.

Which OS do you suggest? I've used Ubuntu and Mint before in the past, but it's been a LONG time since those days.

Thought: Mint is more lightweight and friendly out of the box - should I go that direction?
