Let's celebrate consumerism for the moment - what was your best expensive-ish purchase of the year?
I treated myself with a pedelec (a type of e-bike that is castrated in engine support, but in turn treated like a non motorized bicycle). The last time I bought a bike I made the mistake of just googling what was the minimum amount you should spend on a bike to get somewhat quality. I got a half baked bike that was just totally not fitting to my needs and the topographic situation, and was sold quickly.
Now second attempt almost ten years later - I did my job this time. Narrowing down options over and over again, always with the option to nope out entirely. This time not with the approach what's the minimum to spend, but what fills the needs and are you willing to pay the price or not. The result was, if someone wants to look for it, an I:SY N3.8 ZR CX Comfort - that means a "compact bike" (non foldable, but 20" balloon tyres and foldable pedals) with one of the stronger Bosch engines, suspended seatpost and a few other comfort related features. And even though I only bought it in fall, it's already at the 400 km mark and I'm super happy with it. It serves the roles e-scooters had before - leisure rides, photography, groceries, friends and family visits in the 10km range.
How about you?
