Bending Spoons has a history of making job cuts after buying up companies. The firm laid off 75% of WeTransfer staff after purchasing the document-transfer platform, for example.
Vimeo is laying off staff globally following its $1.38 billion sale to Bending Spoons, a European tech company that has a history of making job cuts after acquisitions. This is Vimeo's second round of layoffs since September, when it cut 10% of its full-time workforce. Bending Spoons, which owns other software companies like Evernote and Meetup, raised $4 billion in debt financing to support its acquisitions.
