Anyone else remember how old TVs smelled when they were warming up?

I randomly thought about this today and it hit me out of nowhere.

Old CRT televisions had a very specific smell when they were on. Not burning plastic, not ozone exactly just this warm, electric scent that only existed if you were close enough to feel the static on your skin.

And if the screen went black? I’d go straight to the back of the TV and sniff it 😅

If it smelled burnt, you knew it was done for. If it didn’t… there was still hope.
