Well I have a Mac mini m4

I’m deep into the Apple HomeKit ecosystem but lately have been a bit frustrated with devices that cannot join HomeKit. Things like my washer/dryer, oven, garage opener, etc.

I have a m4 Mac mini I’ve been wanting to setup as a little server and figured this might be the best first step in that.

I’m going to run in a container and wanted to see if anyone had any tips or advice.

I do have some initial questions. Once I get home assistant running I’d unpair the HomeKit devices and then set them up in HA and expose to HK from there?

How does HA find the devices, is it just on the same network able to discover them? Do I need some sort of antenna?
