Sloppy Joe Grilled Cheese [Recipe]
I love and enjoy making food for people. So today I want to share my secret recipe here~
Nutrition: 700 calories, 36g protein, 20g carbs, 37 fats
Ingredients: 1 pound of ground beef, 8 Texas toast, 8 cheese slices, 0.5 cup of onion, 1 tablespoon garlic, 1 tablespoon tomato paste, 7 ounces of tomato sauce, 0.25 cup of ketchup, 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of butter
Steps:
In a large skillet, cook 1 pound of beef with diced onions and minced garlic over medium heat until the meat is fully browned. Once cooked, drain off any excess grease.
Stir in 1 tablespoon tomato paste and 1 tablespoon burger seasoning. Mix well to coat the beef.
Add 7 ounces tomato sauce, 1/4 cup ketchup, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, and 2 tablespoons brown sugar to the skillet. Mix all ingredients thoroughly and let the sloppy joe mixture simmer for a few minutes to allow flavors to meld.
While the sloppy joe mixture simmers, take slices of Texas toast and generously slather mayonnaise or butter on one side of each slice.
Heat another skillet or clean the first one. Place the mayonnaise/butter-coated Texas toast slices into the hot skillet. Immediately place a cheese slice on the uncoated side of each piece of toast.
Once the cheese starts to melt, spoon a couple of big spoonfuls of the sloppy joe mixture onto one side of the toast with cheese. Then, carefully flip the other toast slice (cheese side down) over the sloppy joe mixture to form a sandwich.
Continue to cook the sandwich, flipping once, until both sides of the bread are toasty and golden brown, and the cheese is fully melted and gooey.
