YouTube Shuts Down Channels Using AI To Create Fake Movie Trailers Watched By Millions

YouTube has terminated two prominent channels, Screen Culture and KH Studio, for creating fake movie trailers using artificial intelligence. These channels, which had millions of subscribers and billions of views, were found to be in violation of YouTube's spam and misleading-metadata policies. The channels used AI to create franchise trailers that often outranked official trailers in search results, leading to concerns within the fan-made trailer community. Hollywood studios, including Warner Bros Discovery and Sony, secretly requested YouTube to direct ad revenue from these AI-heavy videos to themselves.
