LPT: At work, if someone gives you vague or emotionally charged criticism, ask them to document it instead of defending yourself

Most people don't bother because they're there to vent not to help.

If they do send an email, there's a record you can reference and address.

If they don't you can send an follow up with "since i haven't recieved your notes I assume the issue has been resolved".
