[SUGGESTION] Long press bottom bar to customize buttons and placement.
The bottom bar I'm referring to about is the one that has search π, β (submit new post), π notifications, etc.
What if we could long press either the bar (blank space) or any one of those buttons and then an editor mode would start? This would be similar to the Android quick settings editor or the Gboard editor. It would be nice to move the buttons around or hide ones that I don't use.
For example, I really dislike having that plus in the middle because I don't plan on submitting a lot of original content. I like to just comment. So having that button there is wasted space and kind of an eyesore. I understand why is there and it's standardization among social media apps, but that doesn't mean it's optimal for every user. It would be better to shove it to the very end or hide it all together.
If you were to implement a three dot button as well for the bottom bar too, you could let the user dump everything they don't want to see into that little space so they still know it's available, but it's not always on screen. The bottom bar could instead be a funeral holding area for quick actions instead of essentially a toolbar for necessary functions instead. Again, like the holding bar in Gboard or the quick settings panel.
