A quick update on the outstanding issues
Hello, friends 👋
There are a couple of known issues with community creation, community updates, and content moderation that we want to call out.
Community Creation + Updates
The service we use to review community names, descriptions, and guidelines is currently a bit too strict in some cases and too lenient in others. Depending on the type of community you are trying to create, you may see an error saying the details do not pass Digg’s guidelines, even when they should.
We allow users to create up to 2 communities. We prevent users from creating more than 2, even if they create a different account. If you've created another account on the same device, you will get an error if you attempt to create additional communities.
Content Moderation
The service we use to flag posts and comments has similar issues. In some cases it is too strict, and in others too lenient, especially when content appears promotional.
If you're unable to create a community for a topic you believe should be allowed or unable to post content you believe is within the aforementioned guidelines, that doesn't mean there's not a place for it here.
We are actively working to improve these systems so they only block or remove content that is clearly against the site-wide guidelines, and we'll make another post to let you know when everything is workin' as expected.
As always, if you have any questions, need clarification on any of the above, or are runnin' into issues not listed here, please let me know in the comments.
We're grateful you're all here + appreciate your patience as we work out some post-launch kinks!
