The spam is just too much

I challenge all Digg staff to start using All Digg > Latest as their main view to see just how bad the problem really is

Instead of spending 10 minutes before work having a read of this site, I have spent it reporting posts and users.

Increasing the barrier of entry would help this.

Increasing the requirements for creating a community would too (being a member for 2 weeks with a number of posts and comments would nip it almost entirely in the bud). Hells, even a CAPTCHA implementation (which isn't perfect but would help).

This is making the site look amateur. Like it's overran with spam bots. This is making it an impossible sell to my friends and colleagues to join here. And it is impossible to sell as better than Reddit in this state.
