Welcome to /CrashCourses

Welcome! If you've stumbled across this community, I'd like to explain my vision. I had this idea while talking with a friend of mine, who is one of those people that gets infatuated with seemingly the most random of hobbies and topics, and then proceeds to learn anything and everything they can about them. One of his latest fascinations is trees, and he will go on hikes simply to identify and examine different trees in person.

I always admired that level of passion, as well as his desire to share it with others (even if it sometimes falls on deaf ears). So I thought this community could be a place for likeminded people to share their own knowledge about their own interests on a detailed level, and people who are eager to learn can come here to do just that.

I hope to create a crash course for one of my own hobbies soon, so that I can set an example for others to see what I mean. But by all means, if someone else wants to get the ball rolling, feel free!
