Lifetime Cloud Storage Plans: Worth It or Too Risky?
I have been seeing more discussions lately about lifetime cloud storage plans and sudden account terminations. It really makes you think twice before putting a large upfront payment into one service.
Right now, I spread my storage across multiple providers instead of relying on a single company. I use pCloud for certain use cases and keep local backups as well. Client side or end to end encryption feels essential, but even then, some users report accounts being closed without clear explanations.
Lifetime plans may look cheaper in the long run, but they also come with higher risk if something goes wrong. Subscriptions can cost more over time, yet they reduce the potential loss if an account ever gets terminated.
What do you think? Are lifetime cloud plans still worth it, or do you prefer subscriptions with strong encryption and backups?
