On Wikipedia's treatment of biometrics
The general Wikipedia entry on biometrics serves as a decent launching-off point for exploring various aspects of the world of biometrics, including
the general field of measuring biology
use cases for computer security,
and the relationship to surveillance, and related criticisms/concerns,
data protection and law,
and more. The encyclopedic article cites source including NIST, IEEE, academic policy research work, the business world, and more.
Overall, the article seems like a fair general purpose sampling of the field. What is lacks in depth, it makes up for by linking to related topics.
While Wikipedia can seem overly political, it appears mostly matter-of-fact here, in my view.
