The OG Taco Bell is closing today

Hey all :) nothing like ringing in the first post here with news about one of the oldest Taco Bells haha. The Lafayette Taco Bell, which opened in 1968 closing today. Also… people kept stealing the bell?? 💀 Curious if anyone here ever been. https://www.sfgate.com/food/article

1) Keep it local + relevant

Posts should be connected to the Bay Area (news, events, food, hikes, culture, neighborhoods, transit, etc.).

2) Be respectful

Disagree without insults, harassment, hate, or personal attacks.

3) No doxxing/personal info

No sharing addresses, license plates, phone numbers, private screenshots, or “callout” posts targeting individuals.

4) Use helpful titles

Write titles that explain what the post is about (avoid vague “look at this” titles).

5) Promotions are limited

Small/local business posts are allowed occasionally if they’re useful (events, openings, deals).

No spam, referral links, or repetitive self-promo.

6) Keep it constructive

Rants are fine if they include context and invite discussion.

7) Illegal activity isn’t allowed

No posts encouraging theft, violence, or unsafe behavior.
